Video Theme: Things I Dislike

Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.

Assignment:
Write about your experience using Animoto. What did you like/dislike and why? How could you use this in any of your classes? List other themes or possible uses in or outside of school

Animoto was an alright way to make slideshows, but there are a few things that bothered me. The first issue was the music; I know that copyright issues have be kept in mind, but the selecton wasn't really great. Also the fact that if you mess up on the text or something else small you have to restart the whole video kind of annoyed me. I also think the effects they put with it are kind of weird and take away from the pictures. I don't think I would use this for a class because the effects would be too distracting from the subject we are learning about. I might be willing to use the site again for fun, but not for anything serious. I find it much easier/ fun to make slideshows on my own computer because I get to be in control of the timing, effects and other such variables.

Thing 4c

I could use and image or animation generator to make my school projects look better. They could add the extra bit of pazazz that my project would've needed, or they could make my project more interesting to watch. Making an image could help my work to make more sense. Image/ animation generators are also good for home life. They may be crated for entertainment or to inform someone of something theyt didn't know in a way that will trick them into listening. In all, image and animation generators are good for many different reasons.

Thing 4b

Based on the fact that we've been reading the Canterbury tales in my English class.

Thing 3: Flickr part 2

In the Flickr tour, I learned how to upload, edit, share and do many more things with my pictures. I learned that Flickr can help me share pictures with people all over the world. I can upload pictures of my family and edit them into card, calender, or any number of different things. If I were to upload pictures onto Flickr, I would keep any that reveal my personal details (Ex:my address) private. If the picture didn't reveal too much about my life, I would allow anyone to view it. If the picture is entertaining and doesn't cause any harm then why not share it with the world?

thing 3: Flickr part 1

http://www.flickr.com/photos/briberry/3128592627/

I chose to write about this particular picture because I am a big fan of Briberry (the photographer). Briberry draws Alice, the mad hatter and many other Disney characters and posts them on Deviantart.com. She also draws the illustrations in the webstory "When Curiosity Met Insanity." In one scene of the story, Hatter gets very jealous because Peter Pan asks Alice to dance. In this photo, The Disneyland Characters are recreating the jealousy that hatter felt. Briberry has a talent for capturing the magical moments of Disneyland and the fun that the characters are always having. I always enjoy when a new batch of pictures are uploaded to Flickr because even though I can't visit Disneyland for a while, Briberry allows me to enjoy the magic.
